If you’ve ever experienced “Death by PowerPoint”, this class is for you!

This course will teach students how to design presentations that captivate audiences and create a memorable experience for the viewer. PowerPoint slides don’t have to be dull, boring, or tedious.  Students will learn how to re-imagine the way a PowerPoint presentation should look, and to identify better ways to use slides to communicate with students, peers, and the public.

Topics covered will include:

  • Re-imagining PowerPoint – Thinking in New Directions
  • Effective Slide Design
  • Visual Storytelling
  • Avoiding “Death by PowerPoint”
  • The “Presentation Zen” technique

This class is open to both sworn and civilian personnel. This class is appropriate for anyone that uses PowerPoint.

All students must bring a laptop computer equipped with Microsoft PowerPoint (newest version preferred but not required)

NOTE: This course concentrates on presentation design, and is not a basic “how-to” PowerPoint class.  Students interested in a basic PowerPoint class should consider taking PowerPoint for Law Enforcement, offered the previous day.  These classes may be taken separately or together.
