How may I obtain a copy of my training transcripts?

A Georgia Peace Officer’s complete training transcript is maintained by the Georgia Peace Officer Standards and Training Council (POST) and can be accessed by the officer online at www.gapost.org .  To obtain transcripts for training that was attended at the North Central Georgia Law Enforcement Academy only, contact our registrar at 770.499.5072.  

What classes are required for intermediate certification?

Criminal Procedure, First Responder, Health and Wellness, Interpersonal Communications/Crisis Intervention, Officer Survival

What classes are required for advanced certification?

Advanced Firearms, Advanced Report Writing, Advanced Traffic Law, Crime Scene Processing, Interviews/Interrogations, Search warrants/affidavits, Specialized Patrol.

If I leave law enforcement, how many hours do I need when I return?

If you got 20 hours in the year you quit, you will only need 20 hours in the year you return to law enforcement.  If you didn’t get 20 hours in the year you quit, you will need 20 hours for that year plus each year you were out of law enforcement.  For more information contact P.O.S.T. at 770.732.5974.

If I am P.O.S.T. certified but not currently employed in law enforcement, may I sign up for classes?

No, NCGLEA does not offer in-service or advanced training for individuals not currently employed in law enforcement.
